DataFluentix LLC · Nashville, Tennessee · Working across the US

Make your company fluent in its own data.

I help mid-market and growth-stage companies fix the systems the business actually runs on: billing and quote-to-cash, finance operations, reporting, and the AI tooling that makes it into production instead of a slide deck. Twenty years from embedded C to head of technical product, hands-on the whole way.

When to call

You might call if…

  • Your billing or quote-to-cash runs on spreadsheets, tribal knowledge, and one person who can never take vacation.
  • Finance, sales, and operations each have their own numbers, and none of them match.
  • You have bought AI tools and watched the demos, but nothing has changed in how work gets done.
  • You need a technical product leader for the next two quarters, not a permanent executive hire yet.
  • A legacy system everyone is afraid to touch has to be modernized without stopping the business.

Services

Four things I do well.

  • Applied AI that ships

Agentic tooling for engineering and operations intake, triage, and first-pass solutions. AI code review in the delivery pipeline. Knowledge systems that ingest messages, documents, meetings, and tickets into something your team can actually ask. Built in production, measured, and handed off.

  • Business systems and billing

Quote-to-cash and billing systems of record: products, prices, orders, invoices, tax, customers, payments. Finance-operations automation. CRM, CPQ, ERP, and ITSM integrations with the retries, idempotency, and reconciliation that keep the money right.

  • Data and reporting that answer questions

ETL and reporting layers designed around the decisions people make, not the tables you happen to have. Metrics definitions, customer lifetime value, operational dashboards, and the data hygiene that makes the numbers trustworthy.

  • Fractional technical product leadership

Intake to business case to stories and acceptance criteria. Roadmaps, status audits, executive summaries. Legacy modernization planned around user-visible risk. Someone who can read the code and run the meeting.

Approach

Diagnose, build, hand off.

  1. 1

    Diagnose

    two weeks

I read the systems, the data, and the people, then deliver a written findings-and-plan document: what is broken, what it costs, what to do first, and what it will take. Fixed fee.

  2. 2

    Build

    four to twelve weeks

Hands-on with your team. Working software and working process, shipped in increments and measured against the plan.

  3. 3

    Hand off

Runbooks, documentation, and the training that means you do not need me to keep it running. Retainers are available when you want me to stay close.

    Current role

About

Jared Miller, principal.

I started out writing embedded C for televisions and wireless drivers. Since then I have built an engineering department from scratch, run technology as a CTO, taken a product line to profit as a VP, led thirty-plus engineers at Accenture, owned a telecom company’s billing system end to end, and now lead technical product management at a national network infrastructure company, where the AI tooling I built runs in production.

I like broken things, ambiguous mandates, and executives who want the real answer. I write code and I have owned a P&L, which means I can tell you what something will actually cost and then go build it.
